Andrea Wasley

Andrea Wasley

Owner, Funeral Director

Andrea is a lifelong, third generation Plainville resident, and 1994 graduate of Plainville High School, during which time she began her funeral service career.  She went on to graduate from the former Briarwood College with a degree in Mortuary Science, while working alongside Jim and Jessica Bailey, and earned her Funeral Director/Embalmers license in 1997.  She is proud to be recognized as a Certified Funeral Service Practitioner (CFSP) by the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice.

Wasley quickly became involved in many community organizations, including the Plainville Rotary Club, where she is a former President and Paul Harris Fellow, longtime board member and Secretary of the Plainville Community Food Pantry and Treasurer of the Plainville Community Fund. Andrea is one of the newest members of the Board of Directors for the Main Street Community Foundation and their Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and Finance Committees. 

She is a proud supporter and volunteer for many other groups including PARC, the Petit Family Foundation, the United Way of West Central Connecticut, and the Quota Club of Bristol.  A 2014 "Exceptional Woman" honoree by the Queen Ann Nzinga Center, Inc for her community impact, she continues to support their endeavors.

Andrea’s humanitarian work spans worldwide as an affiliate of Pure Water for the World, having traveled to Honduras where she installed water filtration systems in some of their mountainous villages.

On a more personal level, she resides in Plainville with her husband, Chris, is a proud mom to Zachary, a Linden Street School student, and dog mom to their Black Lab, Hank.  She is a dedicated early morning "Pelotoner", enjoys participating in obstacle course races and is a 6x Tough Mudder, has completed several half marathons, and beach or mountains, is a lover of anywhere outdoors.  She spends her down time being surrounded by family and friends as much as possible!

Blaire Bouchard

Funeral Director, Pre-Planning Specialist

Blaire is a lifelong, fourth generation Plainville resident, and graduated as the Senior Class President of Plainville High School, ranking sixth in her class, in the year 2011. Starting at a young age, Blaire always had an interest in the funeral profession and the process of death and dying. Following high school graduation, she attended the former Lincoln College of New England, earning her Associate’s Degree in Mortuary Science in 2014 and her Bachelor’s Degree in Funeral Service Management in 2016. Blaire received her license as a Funeral Director/ Embalmer in the State of Connecticut in 2015.

While attending school, Blaire began her career in the funeral industry at Bailey Funeral Home in Plainville, under the supervision of her preceptor, Andrea. For the next six years, she became a familiar face serving the community of Plainville. Blaire is proud to be able to continue to serve the town that she loves. Some may also recognize her from having previously worked at Friendly’s Restaurant in Plainville.

Blaire is the former Vice Chair of the Plainville Chamber of Commerce and is currently on the board of directors for the Central CT Chamber of Commerce. She is a proud supporter of Plainville community organizations and events, including the Plainville Community Fund, Plainville Community Food Pantry and the Petit Family Foundation. She is a member of the Connecticut Funeral Directors Association and the National Funeral Directors Association.

Blaire currently resides in Plainville with her significant other, Steven. She is a dog mom to their German Shepherd, Bruno, and their rescue pup, Bart, who are by her side as she enjoys going on hikes or any other adventures.  Blaire also has fun experimenting new recipes in the kitchen or playing a game of cards. In the days of summer you will find her by the shore or poolside. She loves spending time surrounded by friends and family and is always up for trying something new or making new acquaintances!

Jesse Gnazzo

Life Celebrant

Jesse has been a Plainville resident since 1975. However, his family has been a part of Plainville for more than 100 years. Jesse attended Our Lady of Mercy School in Plainville and is a 1992 graduate of St. Paul CHS. He began his work in the funeral profession in 2014. Jesse became a Certified Life Celebrant in 2018. He claims that completing Life Celebrant training was one of the most motivating, emotional, difficult and satisfying things he has ever accomplished in his life. 

Jesse has been involved in numerous community organizations including Plainville Little League, Plainville Colts Football, Rotary Club of Plainville, and the Plainville Chamber of Commerce. Jesse has also served as a Justice of the Peace, on the Board of Education and is currently a member of the Plainville Town Council.

Jesse’s son Ben attends Plainville High School. He lives with his significant other, Tammy, her daughter Cassidy and their rescue dogs, Skip, Blue and Fen. They enjoy traveling together, getting in the kitchen to cook dinner and simply watching football. Jesse also enjoys spending his free time in the outdoors, working in the yard, hiking, playing golf or just walking the dogs at Norton Park.

Sue is a Plainville native and 1968 graduate of Plainville High School.  A proud mom to Justin, Sue has worked in the restaurant industry for 50 years, starting at her Dad’s restaurant, Bert’s Place, and for 35 years was a friendly face at Pagliacci’s.  She was a past President of the VFW Post #574 Women’s Auxiliary, a former member of the Plainville Junior Woman’s Club, and is a currently a dedicated member and Past President of the Plainville Rotary Club, having earned the Paul Harris and Rotarian of the Year Awards.  She can be found most days at the Plainville Town Hall as the Democratic Registrar of Voters.  Sue enjoys vacationing with friends, good books and good wine, and lives by the motto “nothing you wear is more important than your smile!”

A lifelong Plainville resident, Pat is a 1967 graduate of Plainville High School and has been a member of Redeemer’s A.M.E. Zion church since her childhood.  She and her husband Joe have shared more than 50 years of marriage together.  They raised their three children in their hometown, and are proud grandparents to six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.   Pat worked for Aetna for 15 years and was a dedicated employee of Starling Physicians for 19 years until her retirement.  A member of the Athletic Backers Club for more than 20 years, she was also a member of the Women’s Club of Plainville, and is a familiar face at the Wheeler Regional YMCA.

A lifelong Plainville resident, Phil attended Plainville Schools and Tunxis Community College in Farmington.  He is employed as an EMS Dispatcher for Bristol Hospital.  Phil has been a member of the Plainville Fire Company since 1989 and currently holds the office of Secretary for the Company.  

Phil has several siblings that have blessed him with numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.  He enjoys giving back to his community through his volunteerism on the Fire Department as well as with Bread for Life in Southington, and in his free time can be found on the Connecticut shoreline or on a getaway to Florida.


Ray Brousseau

Raised in Plainville, Ray and his wife of 48 years, Kathy, have 2 daughters and are proud grandparents, spending most of their spare time with their 2 grandchildren.  Ray was a longtime mentor for the Bristol School System, having won the Mentor of the Year award from the Bristol Board of Education in 2009, and has donated blood regularly since 1983, with a current running total of 4 gallons.  He has been in employed in the grocery industry for most of his career, at both A & P and Big Y, where he is currently their Dairy and Frozen Food Manager.  A member of St. Matthew Church in Forestville and the Knights of Columbus Council 35 in Bristol, Ray’s many hobbies include golf, gardening and fly fishing, including making his own flies.

A proud New Englander and lifelong native to Plainville, Taylor cherishes all that this small, yet mighty town has to offer! Taylor had the privilege of attending the Plainville School System, from Toffolon Elementary all the way to graduating Plainville High School in 2018. After graduation she studied at Goodwin University, and now currently studies at Manchester Community College.

            Outside of working at Plainville Funeral Home, Taylor is also employed at CCARC, where she works as a direct support professional with  individuals who have intellectual disabilities. Taylor enjoys being able to help motivate these individuals on a daily basis to reach their goals and follow their dreams, without allowing their disability to become an obstacle from living a successful lifestyle. 

            During spare time, Taylor enjoys staying outside during the warm months. Some of her favorite activities include freshwater fishing, hiking, camping and gardening. During days when outdoor activities aren’t doable, Taylor would also enjoy reading books and working out either at home or in the gym. 



Dave Mazurek

David (Dave) Mazurek was raised in Wolcott, CT. He met his wife Bonnie in 1976 and they married in 1978. Together they raised 3 sons; Leighton, Brian and Kiley. He is a very proud “Dziadzi” to 7 grandchildren.
Dave is a self-taught ‘Jack of all trades’. He started his own contracting business in 1974 and aptly named it Mazurek Home Repair. He’s had numerous accomplishments in the 46 years he was in business. Although he is able to build just about anything, he prefers masonry.
Dave took a job with the State of CT DOC in 1996 working as outside maintenance and then fire safety. He was given the opportunity while employed with the state to build the brick memorial behind Cheshire Corrections. He retired in 2006.  
Dave dedicated countless hours as a member of the Plainville Fire Dept performing any task required, including building the informational sign on the Fire Dept lawn in his spare time. He retired after 40 years of service as a regular firefighter in 2020 but is still actively volunteering as a driver and fire police. Over the years he had the privilege of fighting fires with two of his sons; Leighton and Brian.
Dave became a Commissioner for the Plainville Housing Authority In 2008 until the present time. He is also an active member with the Plainville Congregational Church
His favorite pastimes are spending time with his grandchildren, working on his own house, doing sudoku puzzles and traveling in his new camper. 


Rick Mitera

Born and raised in Plainville, Rick attended Plainville schools, graduating high school in 1976. He met his wife, Dawn, in high school. They married in 1981 and together they raised 3 children. Rick volunteered for the Plainville Fire Company until he moved out of town in 1987. He ministered for 25 years as a sports chaplain, overseeing the 30 American Hockey League team chaplains as well as working with college players. Recently moving back to their home town after over 30 years, Rick says although much has changed, Plainville is still comfortably the same as it was when he left. Rick enjoys playing hockey, biking , snowshoeing and kayaking but his favorite pastime is spending time with his five grandchildren. 


Joseph Roger Ouellette

Joseph, also known as Roger to most of his family, has been a part of the Plainville Funeral Home family since July, 2022.  A Canadian native, Joseph was a 1962 graduate of Bristol Central High School, and served his “new” country in the US Air Force during the Viet Nam era in New Hampshire, Germany and France.  In 1966 he took a position at the former Wasley Products, which allowed him financially to purchase his first vehicle, and brand spanking new Pontiac Lemans 2 door hard top!  He pursued a career in hospitality, having worked for the Holiday Inns in Meriden, CT., Portsmouth, NH., and later as General Manager for the Ramada Inn in Wethersfield, CT until 1991.  A customer service sales rep for Connecticut Packaging Materials, Inc. in South Windsor, he retired from his full time position in 2008, and continued to work part time until 2021. Fluent in French, he finds comfort in helping others.


John Sisson

A native of Bristol, John and his wife Kathy settled in Plainville more than 40 years ago, where they raised their three children and became proud grandparents to five adored grandchildren.  John retired from the Plainville School System in 2014 after 18 years of dedicated service to his town.  He enjoys meeting his friends for a game of cards at the American Legion in Bristol or the Plainville Senior Center, and traveling with Kathy, taking frequent trips to Florida to visit their newest grandchild.
