William Day Costello, 85 formerly of West Hartford, passed away on September 10, 2023, at the age of 85. Born on September 25, 1937, he was one of three children to the late William Joseph and Isabel (Delaney) Costello.
Raised and educated in Hartford, he was a 1956 graduate of Weaver High School and went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Marine Corps, 8th Combat Battalion from 1957-1960. He married Dawn A. Passanisi in 1965 and together they raised three children.
Throughout his life, Bill was known for his unwavering work ethic. He dedicated over 30 years of his career to Pratt & Whitney, where he forged lasting friendships with his colleagues.
Bill was a man who embraced the simple things in life; doing "guy things", finding joy in fishing and immersing himself in the great outdoors alongside his buddies. His love for nature also extended to the golf course, where he spent countless hours perfecting his swing and enjoying friendly competition. Golf was a true passion of his that brought him immense joy and fulfillment.
He is survived by his son, William T. Costello; his daughters, Lisa Costello and Elizabeth Senofonte, her husband Paul and their children, Katherine and Rocco; his sisters, Alice Costello and JoAnn Johnson; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
