William Roger Casey, 80 of Plainville, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, April 24, 2024. He was the beloved husband of Karen (Brousseau) Casey, who he traveled through life with for the past 47 years.
Born in New Britain on December 3, 1943, he was one of seven children to the late Joseph and Lucy (Kobus) Casey. He and Karen settled in their hometown of Plainville, where they raised their two children and became proud grandparents. They were lifelong communicants of Our Lady of Mercy Church, where they were married in 1977.
Bill dedicated much of his life to Fenn Manufacturing before retiring to immerse himself in his love for driving, transporting vehicles for Crowley Ford. Road trips, camping outings, and visits to his condo in Florida were treasured pastimes that he shared with his family, creating countless memories along the way. Bill was a car enthusiast and skilled mechanic, and his knowledge and love of automobiles was happily passed down to his son, Kyle. Bill's passion for automobiles was also evident in his cherished 1973 Dodge Challenger, which he proudly displayed at area car shows. His love for NASCAR and favorite driver Chase Elliott brought him much joy, especially when witnessing Elliott's triumph in his last watched race. A devoted fan of the NY Yankees and UCONN basketball teams, Bill's spirit for sports and adventure never wavered. He will be missed beyond words, leaving priceless memories for his family to cherish for a lifetime.
In addition to his wife, Karen, he leaves his daughter, Kelly (Casey) Holbrook and her husband Shaun, his son, Kyle Casey, and his wife Maegan. Bill was a proud Papa to his adored grandchildren, Caden, Beckett and Adelynn. He also leaves his brothers, Richard (Doreen) Casey, Russ (Colette) Casey and Robert Casey; his sisters, Marjorie Skigen and Lucille (Jim) McCarthy; his sister-in-law Joanne Casey; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his brother Gerald.
