Sarah E. (Kiernan) Guardarrama, 67, of Plainville, beloved wife of Ismael, passed away in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, September 28, 2021.
Born on July 1, 1954, she was one of three children to the late Bernard and Julia (Meyer) Kiernan. A proud Irish girl who was raised and educated in New Jersey, it was her irresistible green eyes that sealed the deal for Ismael, with whom she would share the past 49 years. A natural caregiver with an infectious personality, Sarah shared a special bond with each of her grandchildren who were the light of her life. A skilled crafter, her abundance of homemade wreaths and crocheted creations were enjoyed by all that were the lucky recipients. Remembered for the kindheartedness and love for others, her presence will be greatly missed in the lives of her family and many friends.
In addition to her husband Ismael, she leaves her son, T.J. Guardarrama of Bristol; her adored grandchildren, Chelsea Guardarrama of Bristol, Olivia Guardarrama of Plainville, Lauryn and Trevin Guardarrama and their mother, Kaylyn Coughlin all of Bristol; her sister Carol Ostrander of Freehold, NJ; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She also leaves her best friend, Maureen Bodnar, who blessed her with compassionate care and love during her final days, to which they are forever grateful. She is now reunited with her beloved son Wayne, her brother Bernard Kiernan and her brother-in-law, Leonard Ostrander.
A celebration of Sarah’s life will be held on Saturday at 9 a.m. at Plainville Funeral Home, 81 Broad St, Plainville. Committal will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Family and friends may gather on Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. For online expressions of sympathy, please visit www.PlainvilleFuneralHome.com
