Ronald W. Drouin, 68, loving husband, father, and grandfather, of Farmington, formerly of Hobe Sound, FL, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home on Thursday, August 17, 2023 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband to Terese (Osak) Drouin of 46 years.
Ron was born on February 22, 1955 in New Britain, CT. Son of Frances (Reale) Drouin and the late Roland Drouin. He worked for various companies including Nicklaus Golf and Colt Manufacturing as their Purchasing Director for many dedicated years. Devoted to his family, Ron was a man full of love, loyalty, and respect, and cherished being “Papa” to his adored grandchildren, Marley and Eli. He was an avid golfer and a member of the Hole in One Club. Ron loved the New York Yankees and Giants, as well as the UConn Huskies. He was also a big animal lover, car enthusiast, and a great cook who loved making delicious cuisine for his family. Ron will be missed tremendously as those who loved him take comfort in knowing that he is at peace.
Ron is survived by his mother, Frances Drouin, his wife, Terese (Osak) Drouin, his son, Craig Drouin and his wife, Kate, his grandchildren, Marley and Eli Drouin, his brothers, Richard and Robert Drouin, and several nieces and nephews that held a special bond with him.
A gathering in celebration of Ron’s life will be held on Thursday, August 24 from 5 to 7 PM at Plainville Funeral Home, 81 Broad Street, Plainville. A prayer service will be held at 6:30 PM. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
