Renee "Bubbles" (Porter) Williams

Renee Ann Williams, 57, of Bridgeport, CT  passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at her son’s home in Bristol, CT following a hard fought battle with cancer, on Saturday, September 4, 2021.

“Bubbles” as she was affectionately known to many, was born on June 15, 1964, the daughter of Richard Porter and the late Kathleen Porter.  A lifelong resident of Bridgeport, she was a familiar face on the roads as a driver who assisted and transported children with special needs, a job she loved and embraced, and represented well through her union membership.  A softball enthusiast, she played as pitcher on local leagues for many years. Times at home with her family were shared with fulfilling her love for animals by watching Animal Planet and Discovery Channel, and friends loved seeing her express herself on the drill team with her intricate drills. Gone too soon but never to be forgotten, she will be missed dearly.

In addition to her father, she is survived by her son Craig Williams II and his fiance Alexus Jones, who cared for her throughout her illness; her daughter Jade Williams; her sisters, Kamala (Ernest) Turner, Kim Johnson, and Yvette (Howard) Embry; along with many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday September 11, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Plainville Funeral Home, 81 Broad St, Plainville.  Family and friends may gather one hour prior to the service, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.  For online expressions of sympathy, please visit www.PlainvilleFuneralHome.com
