Paul Robert Nelson

Paul Robert Nelson, 67, of Plainville, passed away on Monday, May 18, 2020 at his “vacation home”, Touchpoints of Farmington, following a courageous battle with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, complicated by the effects of Covid 19.  He was the husband of Deborah (Candage) Nelson.

Born in New Britain on August 6, 1952, he was the son of Robert and Grace (Johnson) Nelson.  A graduate of Pulaski High School, he went on to enlist in the US Navy, proudly serving his country for four years during Vietnam, receiving an honorable discharge in 1975.  Paul settled in Plainville upon returning home from the Navy, where he and Deborah shared over 40 years of marriage, raised their two daughters and became proud grandparents.  He was a former volunteer firefighter with the Plainville Fire Company, and a retiree of Pratt and Whitney.  Remembered for his patriotism and love for his family, he will be greatly missed.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Deborah, he leaves his daughters, Jennifer and Jessica; his grandson, Austin; his sister, Jeannie Pandolfi and her fiancé Rich Franloich; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Paul may be remembered with contributions to the Plainville Fire Company, 77 West Main St, Plainville, to the Recreation Fund at Touchpoints of Farmington, 20 Scott Swamp Rd, Farmington, or to a non-profit organization that honors his fellow veterans.

Paul’s family extends their appreciation to their Touchpoints family for their kindness and compassionate care during his visits with them.
