Glenn Smith Obituary

Glenn F. Smith, 71, of Plainville, lost his battle with kidney disease on June 25, 2020.

He was born July 24, 1948 in Manhattan, New York, a son of Gabriel F. and Margaret (Kapusta) Smith.

Glenn was a U.S Air Force Veteran serving during the Vietnam War, and having been a machinist, retired from Pratt & Whitney. He was a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather, uncle and friend.

He is survived by his wife, Karen (Van Meter) Smith, his daughter Kristina Smith and her husband, Coree Smith, his son Shawn Smith and his fiancé Tara Aquione, his sister Marguerite DiBenedetto and her husband, Anthony; his grandchildren, Kharysma, Karenlee, Coree Jr., Kaycee Ann, Kennidee and Kassidee Smith, his Goddaughter and niece, Colette Salome and her husband, Ramon; his niece, Amy DiBenedetto, his great nephew Shane Cosme and his father, Reynaldo. He made many friends through the years, especially Peter and Vera Johnson and Sharon and Carl Schader, who were more like family than friends.

The family wishes to express deep gratitude to the Hospital of Central Connecticut for their care and support during Glenn’s final days, to Fresenius Kidney Care for assisting with Glenn’s kidney disease for more than four years, and The Pines of Bristol for their compassionate care during the past 4 months.

In peace may your leave the shore

In love may you find the next.
