Emogene (Judd) Ott, 95, of Plainville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 12, 2022. She is now reunited with the love of her life, Albert “Abbie” Ott, who predeceased her in 2013.
Named after her two grandmothers, Emma and Jean, Emogene was born on January 13, 1927, the daughter of the late Clarence and Virginia (Marino) Judd. A lifelong resident, she attended Broad St. School, and was a graduate of Plainville High School. It was love at first sight when she met Abbie, looking sharp in his sailor suit, as he served in the Navy during W.W.II. They settled in Plainville where they raised their two daughters, and shared 66 wonderful years of marriage. Emma worked for Marlin Rockwell, and was a friendly face at Roger’s Bakery from where she retired. A member of the Plainville Senior Center, she enjoyed playing cards, playing BINGO, trips to the casino and looked forward to Saturday night set back games with her favorite partner, Richard. A devoted wife, mother, gramma and great gramma, who loved spending time with her family, she will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Richard Sewell and Debra and Al Treichel; her grandchildren, Jason Sewell, Jamie Sewell, and Brandon Treichel; and her great-grandchildren, Tyler Sewell and Olivia and Natalia Barbosa.
There are no calling hours. Funeral services in celebration of Emogene’s life and burial will be held privately at the convenience of her immediate family. The staff at Plainville Funeral Home, 81 Broad Street, Plainville extends their gratitude to the Ott family for their trust.
