Edward Foy Obituary

Edward J.  Foy, 78, of Bristol, formerly of Southington, passed away at his home with his daughters by his side on Wednesday, April 28, 2021, joining the love of his life, Isolde “Cookie” Foy in eternal peace.

Born in Queens, NY on April 13, 1943, Ed was one of two children to the late Edward and Lillian (Corso) Foy.  He attended catholic schools in New York, and upon graduating high school, enlisted in the U.S. Army.  A proud veteran, Ed devoted more than twenty years of service to his country during Vietnam as an Infantryman and later as a recruiter until his honorable discharge in 1990.  During his military career, he met his “Baby” Isolde, with whom he shared 52 years of love, life adventures, and world travels.  Following his Military service, they settled in Connecticut with their three daughters and Ed began a second career with Hertz, where he was an integral part of growing the Bradley Airport location for 25 years.  A Märklin model train enthusiast, Ed also enjoyed cars, music, and boating along the Connecticut shoreline.  He will be missed dearly, leaving a legacy of dedication to his family and his country.

He is survived by his daughters, Heide Erb, Debra Donahoe and Mecheal Hamilton; his grandchildren, Billy Erb, Tommy Coyne, Michael Hamilton, Dylan Erb, Margaux Hamilton, and Stephen Coyne, Jr; his great-grandson, Max, and his sister, Arlene Licata.

Ed will be laid to rest at West Cemetery, Plainville, with committal services and military honors held privately.  The staff at Plainville Funeral Home extends their gratitude to the Foy family for their trust.  For online expressions of sympathy, please visit www.PlainvilleFuneralHome.com
