Barbara R. (Varrone) Tracz, 74 of Burlington, beloved wife, mother, educator, adventurer, and art enthusiast, peacefully left this world on November 2, 2023, surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife, best friend and childhood sweetheart of Henry J. Tracz, Jr., with whom she shared 50 years of love and life adventures.
Born on September 26, 1949, one of three children to the late John and Barbara (Zorick) Varrone, Barbara was raised and educated in Plainville. After graduating from Plainville High School in 1967, she pursued her passion for learning by obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Education from Elms College in Chicopee, Massachusetts. Barbara's zest for life led her to travel to various schools throughout the state, where she shared her knowledge and love for education as a substitute teacher. Barbara's fondness for Cape Cod was undeniable, where she managed a self-storage facility with much kindness and generosity. Always eager to expand her horizons, Barbara also worked in retail at Lord & Taylor, lending her warm demeanor and impeccable customer service skills to those she served. During the winter months, Barbara found respite in the warmth of Del Ray Beach, Florida. It was here that she embraced the sunshine and lived life to the fullest, creating countless memories with friends and loved ones. One of Barbara's greatest passions was art. With a perceptive eye, she developed a hobby of collecting, joining in auctions of unique artistic pieces from all over the world. Her appreciation for creativity and talent was evident as she carefully curated her ever-growing collection. Her indomitable spirit will continue to inspire and she will forever hold a special place in the hearts of all who knew her.
In addition to her husband, Henry, she leaves her son Henry J. Tracz, III and his wife Stephanie; her brother John Varrone and his wife June; her sister Elizabeth Barrachina and her husband Michael; her brother-in-law John Tracz and his wife Norma; along with many nieces and nephews. Barbara was anxiously awaiting the arrival of her first grandchild.
