Anthony D’Amico, 33 of Plainville, beloved son of Marc and Laurene (Normandy) D’Amico, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, May 2, 2023.
Born in Bristol on October 5, 1989, Tony attended schools in Avon and Plainville, and EC Goodwin Technical School in New Britain. Born into the construction profession, he was a natural when it came to operating heavy equipment and was self-taught, enthusiastic bulldozer operator. He previously worked for D’Amico Construction and was currently employed at Mizzy Construction, where he was well respected for his knowledge and hard work ethics. With his trademark sunglasses and his hair styled to perfection, he showed up each day with an infectious love for his job. Second to his love for Cat equipment and apparel was his affection for the tacos that he consumed on a daily basis. Tony had an eclectic choice in music that his entire neighborhood knew about as he played it loudly enough for all to hear. He leaves his family heartbroken, but with many cherished memories for them to reflect upon with a smile as he would have wanted.
In addition to his parents, he leaves his twin sister Angela, with whom he shared a special bond; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, his close friends and co-workers; and his beloved dog, Mocha. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Anthony and Ann Marie D’Amico and Rose and Frank Normandy.
In lieu of flowers, Tony may be remembered with contributions to the Hospital for Special Care, 2150 Corbin Ave, New Britain CT 06053 or at www.hfsc.org to benefit the care of his sister and countless others.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 9 a.m. from Plainville Funeral Home, 81 Broad St, Plainville, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Church. Committal will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest with his grandfather, Tony. Family and friends may gather on Monday evening, from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
