Melissa (Therrien) Shapcott

Melissa (Therrien) Shapcott was born to Ronald and Theresa (Karwacki) Therrien, and was one of three children.  Raised and educated in Plainville, she was a graduate of Plainville High School, where she met her best friend and future husband, Michael.  They shared more than twenty years together, and were fortunate enough to work alongside one another for more than ten years as she supported Michael in his art career.  Melissa had many artistic talents as well, as an accomplished writer, photographer and web designer, who enjoyed reading, hiking, and being surrounded by her family and her beloved pets.  Free spirited and selfless, her care and concern for others was evident throughout her life.  Melissa was a beautiful soul inside and out, and will be missed beyond words, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she leaves her brother Eric, her sister, Diana and her fiancé, Charlie; her sisters-in-law Jessica (Shapcott) Cadorette and Emily Shapcott; her nieces, Athena, Ari, Sophia, and Jade; her mother and father-in-law, John and Linda Shapcott and Nanny Arlene Castiola.

In lieu of flowers, Melissa may be remembered with contributions to CT Humane Society, 701 Russell Rd, Newington, CT 06111.

Melissa’s family will remember her with a future memorial service at a day and time to be announced.
