Douglas Baldwin, 47, of Bristol, passed away surrounded by those he cherished on Saturday December 29, 2018 at Bristol Hospital, following a lengthy illness.
Born in Brooklyn, NY on September 18, 1971, he was one of seven children to the late William Fields and Eloise Baldwin. Raised in Plainville, Doug was a well-known and much loved fixture in his hometown, and a 1991 graduate of Plainville High School. Remembered for his larger than life personality, to those who knew him best, he lived a life of selflessness and love, always putting others needs before his own. Affectionately known as Poppa Doug to many, he will be greatly missed by his family and wide circle of friends.
Doug is survived by his life partner and best friend, his fiancée Brenda Lockery and her children whom he treated as his own, Denzell and Kiera and her husband Joseph, and their children, Leilani, Iszaiah, and Isaac; his son, Danté Jones of Rhode Island; his brothers and sisters and their families, Dorine Baldwin, Denise Brown, Dorian Baldwin, Dionn Baldwin, Darryl and Derrick Baldwin, and several nieces and nephews, including Shamarr and Wayne who were like brothers; and too many special friends to mention.
